REALLY, WHY?

Only the desk lamp illuminated the dark room. She considered it a waste of time to get up from the desk and turn on the light. The only sound in the room was the clicking and clicking of the keyboard on his computer... Everyone had left and he was the last one in the office.

The other employees could leave at 19:00 like normal people, but Denise... “Let's finish that, let's finish this.” She made the clock 22:00 again.

"Good evening," voices had drifted to her like a distant melody, and she automatically responded. But it wasn’t something she consciously did.

Being a manager in her department, coupled with her desire for perfection, had led to this. In her opinion, no one did their job properly... She wanted to review everything herself, carefully checking, adding, or removing things.

At first, this behavior pleased her employees, but over time, they began to think, "Ms. Denise will fix it anyway," which led to sloppy work. As the workload increased, her employees became more incompetent, and Denise, the manager, believed that the only issue was poor time management.

If a person can correctly identify the problem, they can also find the right solution. Otherwise, wrong solutions will only make the problem worse.

Denise checked the office lights and hurriedly made her way outside. It was time to put an end to this, but she had no idea what to do. Because of work, at 45 years old, she was still single and on the verge of losing the few friends she had left.

She realized how upset Emily was when she mentioned that Denise had delayed even calling her for two months after her father passed away. How hurt she was... And she was so right... She was making a mistake somewhere, but where?

She felt like calling her mother. Talking to her had always been comforting, and it had been a while since they last spoke. She got into her car, wondering if her mother was asleep as she hit the call button. It was as if her mother was waiting for her to call, she answered after the first ring. She cheerfully answered her daughter's phone, and asked how she was doing, “I'm fine” came out of Denise’s mouth, but her mother understood from the tone of her voice.

Her mother only asked questions...

-How are you?

-I'm fine, but I'm very busy, Mom. I'm sorry I don't call you often.

-That’s okay, dear. But why are you so busy?

There was a moment of silence. Why was she so busy?

-Well, Mom, no one at work does their job. I end up doing my job and theirs. I just got out of the office.

-Why, dear? Are they new? Do they not know what they’re doing? Why are they making mistakes like that?

There was silence again. Yes, they were not new to the job. Why weren't they doing their jobs right?

-I don't know Mom, people are strange.

-People don’t just make mistakes for no reason, dear. There must be something going on.

-Mom, I'm in traffic now, it's a bit busy, can I call you later?

-Of course, dear. But think about it, don’t keep postponing, okay?

So why was it like this? She didn't tell them about their shortcomings, she didn't warn them of their shortcomings, she didn't impose any sanctions... She pretty much blinded her employees about their work. Actually, if have to confess, it is suited for her. Because she believed she did the best job herself. Facing this truth was hard, but it was also a relief. “Ugh, what kind of situation have I gotten myself into? What have I done to myself?”

Indeed, whatever a person does in life, they do to themselves. Wasn’t what she was experiencing simply a reflection of her actions?

Think, Denise. Don’t postpone it...

  4. I had a life like Denise before... I missed my friends special and diffucult moments... I didn't join many family events... But everything is temporary. We should catch important moments as possible.
