SENSOR LAMP

Gia felt like her life was in complete chaos. She constantly found herself asking, "What am I going to do?" She felt exhausted, but she knew she was not doing much. She seemed to have an endless to-do list in her head and a new item was being added to-do list every hour. However, Gia did not know where to start.

She needed to call her mother and meet with Emily, who was looking for a job. She couldn't go to the children's school meeting, so she had to go to the school and talk to the teachers. She had to call someone to clean the house. There were five emails she had to send, and the next week she had to organize a meeting with subcontractor companies. As she thought about these things, she met her blank stare on the darkening screen. The computer had gone into sleep mode, and the screen was black. She had been lost in thought for more than half an hour. She tried to pull herself together and returned to work.

On the way to lunch with her friends, she had similar thoughts in her mind. Her husband Omar was a public employee and his transfer was imminent. That's what he said, but they had been waiting for news for about four months. During this period, she had been unable to do anything because she thought, “We will move anyway.” She couldn't decide on either the house or herself. She kept putting off things, thinking "Maybe today, maybe tomorrow," and hadn’t done a thorough cleaning at home for months. As a result, the house no longer felt like home.

She thought about the course she had intended to start months ago. She had wanted to do it very much at first and was sure it would benefit her. But when her friend Sandy told her that it was a two-month course so, she gave up. They could move at any moment. “I wish I had started. Two months seemed like a long time at the time,” she said to herself.

While thinking about these things, she left his friends behind and came to the restaurant's door. Once again she came face to face with her reflection in the window. She raised her head and looked at the door sensor. “It must not be working,” she said, but thanks to her friends coming from behind, the door opened and they went inside.

In the evening, she barely made it home. Even though her work wasn't very busy, the thoughts in her head were enough to exhaust her.

"Maybe if my job were busier, I wouldn’t have so much time to think," she thought as she parked her car. How strange... She wanted to work harder just to avoid getting tired from overthinking. She had received just such a job offer at the beginning of the year. She wanted to take advantage of this offer before renewing her contract with her workplace. It was one of the best companies in their city. Gia had dreamed of working there even when she was still at university.

But when Omar’s reassignment came up, starting a new project at a new workplace didn’t feel right. If she had to leave, she would have to leave the project unfinished. At least the project she was working on now was nearing completion. If she had to leave, she wouldn’t be putting her colleagues in a difficult situation. Then suddenly she was in the dark. She got into the elevator and closed the door, but the light went out because she forgot to press the floor button.

Gia thought about what she had been through all day. As long as people did not move, what was in front of their eyes disappeared. Doors that are just about to open end up closing, leaving you suddenly in the dark. This was exactly what she had experienced in the past months. The course she was going to take was perhaps exactly what she needed right now. However, Gia had become interested in other things and had disappeared from her sight. The job offer could have been a good turning point. When she couldn't take a step forward, that door was closed and perhaps never even opened. The uncertainty of waiting had left her paralyzed. She felt like she had lost her direction and was stuck in the dark.

Running away from problems neither solves them nor reduces them; it only changes their qualities!

What do you want to change or organize in your life?

Just take action! Movement is an indispensable factor for leading a happier, healthier, and more balanced life. The only constant in the universe is movement, and movement is everywhere.

Just don't move into uncertainty! A person doesn’t jump into the water without knowing its depth. They don’t put food in their mouth without knowing its temperature. They don’t drive fast in foggy weather. First, they approach cautiously, calibrate, and eliminate uncertainty step by step with small actions. Otherwise, people remain motionless whenever they face the unknown.

Yet life continues whether we stop or not. Every night inevitably gives way to light and every winter to spring...
